Ann.without.an.e
I like this idea as a graduation gift for DD. Something where we can add charms to it over time. Is Pandora the best place to do this ($$)? Are there cheaper alternatives that are still quality? Would love to know your experiences, thanks :thumbup1:
Spryte
I love mine. I prefer the pandora brand to a knock off, because I wear it constantly, and the knock off had some fading. I also like the safety catch so charms don't fall off. Edited May 20, 2017 by Spryte
Pawz4me
I love my Pandora bracelet. I don't know much about other brands, other than that Trollbeads and Chamilia seem to be the nearest (in terms of cost and maybe quality) competitors. Kohl's has their own brand but the quality isn't good.
mlktwins
I love mine too -- I have several actually! I don't put any beads other than Pandora on it.
zoobie
Pandora has periodic sales where you can get a free bracelet with $X purchase. That's when I bought my mom one. Von Maur will honor the sale in their stores too. Not sure what other stores carry them. Does your daughter want one? They don't seem to be a young people thing here. TechWife
I have a Chamilia charm bracelet. It is quality jewelry available only through a jewelers. I don't think there's a huge difference in cost between this brand and Pandora, though.
Guest
Brighton has them. So do Kroger jewelry stores.
Dmmetler
One thing that is nice about Pandora is that they do honor their warranty-I had the clasp on my bracelet break just shy of one year, and not only did they replace it, the warranty started over. I have two Pandora bracelets and wear them constantly. RueLaLa does frequent sales on Pandora, usually the recently retired beads, but also have bracelets occasionally. I believe there is one going on right now.

I have two bracelets and I love them and people love gifting the beads as well.

magnificent_baby
I really like mine, although the clasp broke and I can't wear it. I made the mistake of inquiring at a "pandora" kiosk in the mall, who told me I was out of luck. When I inquired at the actual store they said they would work with me since I was out of warranty and would let me exchange. It sounds like the kiosk versions aren't the real thing or perhaps do have the authority to make exceptions? Not exactly sure but wanted to warn you before you seek out where to purchase. :)
Kassia
I have Chamilia and love it, but I agree that there might not be much of a price difference. For me, I just preferred the Chamilia.
Arcadia
How big or small is your daughter's wrist? I have a very small wrist ( <5") so I have to get charm bracelets that are thin. The Pandora bracelets are too chunky for my wrist. I have luck with Claire's and Forever 21 for fun wear bracelets but the quality isn't great. No luck with Macy's despite the higher price tag. Does your daughter want one? They don't seem to be a young people thing here. The Pandora stores at malls and premium outlets aren't getting much road traffic. Even the Swarovski store gets more customers most days. Edited May 24, 2017 by Arcadia

Even the Swarovski store gets more customers most days. The Pandora store closest to me is swamped when they have a sale. They put out the line thingies (like at an amusement park) to keep things more orderly and fair. They don't seem to be very busy at non-sale times, though. Their sales are very regular, so I'm guessing most people wait for them. Edited May 24, 2017 by Pawz4me

My daughter got one for her 16th birthday and loves hers. She had a charm bracelet as a little girl and loved hers back then too. The sale that was running when we bought was a free leather bracelet which she wears for casual with cheaper charms. The silver bracelet she usually saves for dressier times and we add charms occasionally for special events.
Arcadia
The malls here are all participating in Memorial Day sales which is this weekend. Maybe you can bring her to a Pandora store and see what she like, unless it is meant to be a surprise gift. The Pandora store closest to me is swamped when they have a sale. They put out the line thingies (like at an amusement park) to keep things more orderly and fair. Probably. The long lines are at outside the Kate Spade stores and used to be at the Coach stores. We have six stores within driving distance. We also have plenty of jewelry stores within walking distance of each other or in the same mall. Barb_
My husband and kids gave me a charm bracelet from James Avery. I think their free bracelet deal is on until the end of May.
mominco
I got one for my daughter for her 15th birthday from etsy and the seller added a few charms like her initials and books(she loves to read) for free.
