My name is Amy and I am in Martinez California, and are wondering which curriculum most homeschooling families choose as far as Charter School Curriculums versus choosing your own curriculums? Our school district charter school seems like they require on average 5hrs of schooling a day. Not sure what other non-district charter schools require per day yet as far as hours spent on coursework. I'm still contemplating purchasing my own different curriculums. I'm not a fan of too much online coursework. I'd like to interact more with my boys. Any suggestions? I have a 6yr old and 8yr old boys. My 8yr old has mild Dyslexia, so I am going to try and incorporate Barton's Orton and Gillingham into our English format. My husband is not a fan of the homeschooling idea and concerned about socialization. Every homechoolier I've met seems perfectly normal, however I haven't known too many. Thanks for your input!
