bookbard Posted April 26, 2017 Share Posted April 26, 2017 Here are some vents. a) I started up a great homeschooler program which a lot of locals are using and getting benefit from. Of course, who has lost out in so many ways from it? Me. I need to let it go, let it go, so just venting generally here. Why can't people be respectful when you are giving giving giving? b) My other half is getting more and more conservative - he was a centrist when I met him, he knew my very left-leaning pov and seemed to sympathise. Things have changed and it is a real struggle to be constantly calling him out when he makes prejudiced remarks. Why on earth add more conflict to your life, why make remarks when surely you realise it will upset me? I can't understand it. Between their agent sending people over without telling me and our agent treating us like an idiotic too rich couple who should give the buyer whatever he wants, I'm done. Tomorrow's the day we kindly put our foot down and tell them all to take a flying leap. We knew 20+ years ago that me being a SAHM and homeschooling would mean giving up my small income for larger benefits to our family. But when things go wrong and there isn't enough money to fix it, I have to try really hard to remind myself of what we gained by losing income. This week's fun: if we had $50 to spend on a minor bathroom repair 10 years ago, it wouldn't have turned into a $500 repair that we also didn't do 5 years ago, so today, as I type, we are spending $5,000 to finally fix everything that resulted from the chain events of hidden plumbing leaks. Why does the work stop *after* they reduce the speed limit for the new work zone? Why should a right turn on a green light (not a green arrow) have to yield to a left on green? Ok, that's a long-time rant of mine but it's bugged me for the 12 years we've lived here. And my annoyance was renewed yesterday when I saw a brand new yield sign which was accompanied by another sign explaining that the right turn must yield to oncoming turning vehicles. It's only four hours away, but I really hate playing the "will another kid suddenly start puking while we are on the interstate?" game. And I'm tired of the drinking culture in DH's family. Jerks doing bad things just get to keep on doing them longer until you can finally get them into court! Why is it always raining when it is my day to take the dog out to poop? Selling our house ..... nuff said there. People who feel it is ok to lecture me on life choices. I am over 50 and do NOT want to be lectured! Cecropia Posted April 26, 2017 Share Posted April 26, 2017 This morning, we had an exterminator come out and spray the bottom of the the back porch (2nd story) which has a carpenter bee infestation. He assured me the spray wouldn't get up into the porch and I didn't have to move any stuff out there. Yeah, I saw big wet spots where it got up inside :cursing: My fault for not trusting my gut and moving everything out before he sprayed. Now I'll have to hose it all off and throw some of the toys away, sigh. I have to block the porch door with furniture to force the toddler to stay in the house, and he is not happy about it!
