lisabees
This is for 9th grade dd. She prefers a lot of structure and really enjoys outside teachers (hmmm). I am happy to create the course, but I thought I'd check to see if there are any new resources or classes available.

lisabees
The Great Courses Plus has a Human Geography course. It's called Understanding Cultural & Human Geography. DD loves Great Courses. This may be a good supplement. I am assuming there is not enough for an AP course. Thank you for reminding me.

SebastianCat
I know nothing about Florida Virtual School. Do you have any experience with it? My 9th grade DS has taken 2 classes with Florida Virtual this year. The courses for high school are completely online and asynchronous except for a few required live lessons. Students are assigned a teacher, who does a welcome call, does telephone-based DBAs (discussion based assessments) for each module, and grades the student's work. It's self paced, but there is a minimum number of assignments that must be completed each week. Tuition is free for Florida residents, and I think it's $400 per semester for non-residents. DS has taken Spanish I and Driver's Ed this year. Spanish has been OK, but not his favorite, and it took him a good portion of the 1st semester to figure out the process and timing of assignments. Since then it's been easy. Driver's Ed was extremely easy and he finished quickly. This site ranks the FLVS AP HUG class as one of the best online AP courses available. I don't have any experience with this particular course, but it's a possibility for my DS next year. If we can work out the schedule, he'll take AP World History from our local high school as a part time student, but if the schedule doesn't work, he'll take AP HUG through FLVS.
MarkT
http://forums.welltrainedmind.com/topic/642760-who-offers-ap-human-geography-online-other-than-pahs/ maybe you can all get together and create a new course offering (such as take turns as the instructor )

JumpedIntoTheDeepEndFirst
Remember you do have the option to adopt an approved syllabus. I think the sample syllabi are usually adoptable. Setting up Human Geography isn't too tough though.
