Good morning, all! Welcome to the Lounge!

DD and I are headed out to the horse ranch this morning, thus part of the reason behind the name of the Lounge today. Plus, I was just reading through a thread in which Margaret of CO posted, so there's that. ;-)

What's on your schedule today? Here: horsemanship lessons. Only DD is going today, though, because DS is not feeling well. He wasn't feeling great last night, either, so he may be coming down with something. He has Tech Week NEXT week so this week may be lots of rest for him as he can't really afford to be sick!

What do YOU need to take care of in your own life today? Here: I've been sadly neglectful of my personal quiet time and Bible study so that's what I'll be doing while DD is in horsemanship.

What's the weather like where you are today? Here: In the high 80s but cloudy here today. It's beautiful right now: partly sunny and cool (in the 60s).

Talk to me! :bigear:

Good morning, Scrap!

Lovely day here, after a week of rain. 60's and sunny. The weeds in my yard have grown and inch just this morning!

Today is a regular school day here, with a CSA pick up (strawberries! :hurray:  :hurray:)  and a trip to Goodwill in the afternoon. Maybe some yardwork too.

Me-time is rare these days. I often get some quiet time in the mornings, but some times I just take the time whenever it falls in the day. I don't like waiting til bedtime because I am so tired and sleepy. The summer is better because our schedule is more flexible and our deck is nice in the early mornings, before the temps gets too high. Privacy is hard to find in a small house with two extroverted children! No Bible time early today because I slept late -  Ds woke me up at 3:30 and I was awake for about 2 hrs, then fell back asleep.

Have a great day!  :seeya:

Good morning Scrap (and everyone else!)

No big plans today, thankfully.  I have a sore throat and I'm very tired.  I do need to get part of the house picked up because we have a repairman coming.  And I have a hair appointment tonight.  I'd love to cancel, but it takes weeks to get appointments at times that are convenient for me and my hair is quite bushy.  I just need to drop some stuff off at the library when I pick dd up from school.  Speaking of libraries, does anyone have an idea where my book bag with a children's version of Walt Whitman poetry might be hiding.  It has disappeared and I need to get this book back to the library.

What I need to take care of today is my cold!  But I also have some business accounting to finalize ... not sure that is going to happen because my head was swimming with the numbers before being sick.  And I need to read a chapter in a book on healing pain for work with my therapist tomorrow and review The Light Between Oceans for a book club I may be joining ... the meeting it tomorrow.  The last two are for me.  I am working on chronic pain and grief with my therapist and we are trying something new.  And a gift from God appeared in my inbox last week.  A woman I know who is done homeschooling and at loose ends right now reached out to me about going with her to a book club to see about joining.

It is about 60 degrees F and sunny today.  It should get up to the mid 70s.  I should be more joyful about this, but I don't feel well enough to really enjoy it.  I have to take the dog for a walk.  Ordinarily, this would be a good 90 minute walk, but not today.

The weather is a bit grey and gloomy but not cold.

I need to rest and relax. I did returned the borrowed floral stands to the florist this morning. She is a great lady so we chatted for a few minutes which was nice.

I am not homeschooling today. Dsl and I are wiped out. So I was going to quilt. Set a row together and began attaching to the the quilt top in progress, hit a pin hard, broke the needle, and discovered I am out of needles. Grrr...so IF I get the energy together, I need to make a JoAnn's run.

Schedule: school work, hair salon appt for teen daughter and possibly myself. (Not sure if baby girl will let dd handle her long enough for me to have a turn in the salon chair.)

Me: shower before going out. Why is it I got up at 4am and its lunch time and still have not been able to work in a shower? I want to get some more yarn therapy in. I finished the pieces for my peppermint blanket, 2 rows sewn together, only 5 more to go. But I sure do hate seaming and weaving ends. And I'd like to add a square or two to my hypnotic tiles blanket. In my fantasy, I have enough time and brain power to complete a lace section of my tardis shawl that I have not worked on in weeks. Knit just takes more time and energy than crochet, so I've been focusing on my crochet. If I get a chance to work on any of those projects, I'll be a happy camper.

The weather is gorgeous. Low 80s nice breeze and sunshine.

Schedule: Ani had physical therapy this morning.  We did some school.  Then we had taekwondo (only Fritz and I went).  We just ate lunch.  We have more school to do.  Ani and Cameron work tonight.

I need to do for me: I need to do some deep cleaning of a couple things.  I get stressed out when things are at all messy.

Weather: Beautiful!  We're in the 70s right now going up to the 80s.  It is, after all, the perfect date according to Miss Congeniality's Miss Rhode Island.  All you need is a light jacket!

Today's schedule is school, picking up a friend, and attending a big fundraising event tonight for the women's center where I volunteer and do math tutoring.

I still need to shower and get ready for that tonight. I could use some relaxing time, but that's not happening today.

The weather is sunny and 77 right now. It's really perfect.

Today's schedule had stuff like school on it. Took Celery to OT/Speech, then Dutch, then gym (but no swim), then worked on prepositions, a very little math, some history, and Writing & Rhetoric took for.ev.er. (I'm thinking about 2 hours?). We're in the last chapter of Fable, but he kept doodling, and getting things wrong because he wasn't thinking, and it was torture, but eventually he got it more or less done (we'd done the first part of the chapter last week, and I'd planned on leaving the last part for another day, so, the only thing that I'd planned there for today that didn't get done was the second dictation). He had to break a long sentence up into two sentences, which went fine, but then when he had to break that same sentence up into four sentences... I don't know what happened. He kept writing down fragments, even though we covered fragments recently, and when I asked him he could tell me that sentences need a subject and a predicate, and point those out in the sentences (and the lack thereof in the fragments, etc, with one exception, where he was confused). Sigh.

Have you looked behind the Lounge Chair in the corner? Think I saw a bag back there.  ;)

Hope you feel better soon!

DD had a rough morning emotionally so horsemanship did not go well. Came home, dropped her off, then went to a friend's where my son was because the power had gone off at OUR house while I was gone. Then, coming back from friend's house, I almost couldn't get into my drive for the four fire engines and an ambulance mostly blocking the street. I almost panicked when a fire truck came out from OUR parking lot but then it headed to the townhouses next door. Still had to go the wrong way down my street to get into my parking lot. Hoping they'll be gone in about a half an hour so I can go out and do some grocery shopping. We'll see!

Scrap, I hope your dd is feeling better.

The gala tonight was amazing. Several graduates and current residents gave their testimonies. I am in awe of the ministry this organization does, but I kept thinking how many others there are out there because this is just one...in one small town.  The brokeness the ladies have experienced in their lives is overwhelming to hear, but I'm thankful they ended each story with powerful statements like, I am loved. I am forgiven. I am restored. I am worthy.

Hi everyone,

Amy , I wonder if I missed your posts about the gala?  That sounds interesting.

I was busy between doing school  and being a taxi driver--then I forgot I had Bible study this evening until someone texted me to see if I was going.  I really thought about staying home but I'm glad I went.  It's always good to get with that group of ladies.

Good night!

Good night!

It was a fund raising dinner and auction for the ministry. It's a 12-18 month residential program for women getting over addictions, dealing with abuse, etc. Many of them were in prostitution in Atlanta.

Oh My Gosh!!  Cattle Ranch Teacher's Lounge!!!  Fabulous.

I've got to start the Welsh pony.  Yesterday I mowed all our lawns on the ranch from 10:00 to 5:00.  Pouring rain last night so yay!  So I can't start the pony in the mud.  Grand babies coming for MaBelle day tomorrow so I'm trying to get dh to build a sandbox.  Now.  Ordered a new catio for spoiled house cat.  Niece three hours away has her first Western Pleasure show on an Arabian (she's generally a hunter/jumper) so I'm going to help.  Must retrain ducks not to poop in front of the door...  any ideas???

Got to start that Welsh pony.....
