Soror
I can't find the Scouting thread. Ds received his First Class rank and was voted into Order of the Arrow. The official ceremony isn't until June (dh is in leadership so he found out when they voted). Evidently, they only do voting once a year so if he didn't get in this time he wouldn't have a chance until next year. Dh said he did extremely well on his Board of Reviews, one of the questions the Scoutmaster actually got wrong but ds knew the answer. I'm so proud of him, he has been very self-motivated and has worked hard.

Soror
Here's the old thread if you want to add to it: http://forums.welltrainedmind.com/topic/452188-what-are-your-scouts-working-on-boys-girls/page-22?hl=troop&do=findComment&comment=7155480 And yes, OA elections are usually only once a year. Most chapters want them done by the end of April so callouts can happen at Camporees and then Ordeals done at Spring Fellowships. I swear I looked and looked for it! So, I guess our Troop does that part right. They said the ceremony is at Summer Camp.

Soror
Since most of the "cheerful service" is done at camps, the Ordeals are usually held there. Our Lodge is so big geographically (ALL of western CO), we try to do them at big events since it's so far to travel. [/quote We have one fairly local but I believe it is going to be shut down after this year as we have had a merger so we don't have t drive too far.
