Differen

I see a post about acne every so often so I thought I would weigh in.

I bought Differen over the weekend, $14 for a small tube. I have used it maybe four times and I already see a difference! I don't get a lot of zits, mostly blackheads, so I can't speak to that. I swear my pores look smaller on my nose. In only 4 days!

Apple Cider Vineger w/the mother works great and it's natural. Also cutting back on milk products.

I was going to post this! DS has been using it for about a month and his acne has really cleared up but I also noticed his pores were smaller. I stole his and started using it and it really makes a difference!

I've never heard of this so I looked it up on Amazon. Exactly what did you purchase? Just the gel?

Just a tiny tube of gel, although the box is much larger. I have very sensitive skin, and I MUST use moisterizer/lotion every day. This stuff has not caused any flakiness! My skin just looks better. I got it at walgreens, but I also saw it at target.

We recently started this for one of my boys bc he really had more than the typical acne. "Pizza face" would have been an improvement it was so awful no matter what he did or didn't do as typical methods of reducing it.

He puts it on after his night shower and forgets about it.

Day 1 - noticeable less irritation. Still pretty bad but we saw noticeable improvement.

Day 2 - almost all the "angry" looking spots don't look angry anymore

Day 3 - most the redness is gone

Day 4 - noticeable blemish reduction

Day 10 today and he has about 4 spots. He now looks like a normal case of occasional teen blemishes. I really hope it continues to work and isn't one of those things that does great for a month before tolerance builds up and he is back to square one.

my son uses it with a script. I haven't seen it for sale in the stores here.

Just one thing to be VERY aware of. Differen, aka adaptelene, make you VERY photosensitive.  It is not only exposing new skin, but it also increases your chance of sun damage by quite a lot.  Do not use it unless you are very serious about sun block every day all the time.  My son got a sunburn in February walking to school, and we live in upstate NY and there is no sun in February.  He now wears a sunblock every single day and takes it in his backpack, because two weeks ago he got another sunburn being outside for gym. He has gym at the end of the day and the sunblock had apparently worn off by then.

So, please, I'm glad if it's working for you, it's been amazing for my son, but please take sun protection very seriously if you use it. We now have a nice selection. He prefers the Japanese sunblock, but it is a 'commuter sunscreen' and is really only good for incidental sun exposure. If he's outside any longer or if he's going to be hot and sweaty he uses a sports block. And don't forget that sitting in a car requires sun screen. UVA rays (the ones that cause sun damage but not tanning/burning) pass through glass.
