KeriJ
I'd love to hear details from those who have used it. Maybe even compare it to other programs?
mom31257
My ds just used Season 3 in a our co-op and none of the students had used the other seasons. It was an 8th-12th grade group. It's been a great year that has stretched us both. A middle school class in the co-op is going to use Season 1 and 2 next year. Ds had not written any literary analysis essays up to this point, so that was probably the most challenging part of the year. The program begins with basing it on short stories included in the curriculum and even gives the thesis statement or a choice of thesis statements on some of them. That helped us a lot. I ended up creating my own organizer to help my ds remember some of the defined sentence purposes. Are you looking at all 3 seasons? I really wish I had used Seasons 1 and 2 with ds. I actually bought them and plan to go back and do a couple of things from them next month. Our co-op ends next week, but we go through the end of May with our regular school year. As far as comparing with other programs, I had used IEW for a few years with ds and he had a writing class in co-op last year that was just to work on paragraph and essay planning/writing. This is the first program actually based on literature, so I'm not sure I have much to compare it to that would be similar.
