Hillsdale Redux

There's an old thread about this college that some thought was by a troll and it rabbit trailed into other issues.

Does anyone have any current input on this college?

Also a previous poster said some families had their kids come home early from Hillsdale and wouldn't say why. I would imagine due to stress or other factors, this could happen with any college.

But I'd love some info from recent or current experience with Hillsdale as my oldest is quite excited about it.

Thank you!!

I have no first hand experience, but I do know three young people who have graduated from Hillsdale recently.  One went on to grad school at Notre Dame, and another is a medical student at a well respected private university.  I believe the third is a teacher.  They all loved Hillsdale.  I have been there once.  It is a very small town and a quaint campus.  I think at least two of them, and maybe all three, did study abroad as well.

Ds19 is finishing his 2nd year at Hillsdale.

He is doing well there and loves it. It is a great fit for him.

What kind of information are you looking for? I'll gladly answer if I can.

Natalie, I'm not the OP, but I'd like to hear what your son loves about Hillsdale and why it's a great fit. This is a school my dd may be interested in.

Thanks Natalie,

How stressed out are kids about grades? I know there is no grade inflation and the kids work hard. I'm sure it varies a lot between kids. But some campuses have a more intense climate than others.

How much of a presence is the frat system? That's not for DD, and I'm wondering if it would be grating.

What would your son say are his favorite aspects about the school?
