rutamattatt
DS12 is super excited to do an in depth study next year of both World Wars. I purchased this book, an I'm hoping it will work well as a "spine" (it hasn't arrived yet, so fingers crossed). What are some of your favorite resources about the World Wars that would be appropriate for a 7th grader? TIA!
birchbark
My son did WW history for 9th grade, and I listed his resources here. The Marrin books would be esp good for a 7th grader. Usborne also has a War Stories that would go well with the book you linked. Maybe the Dave Dawson books as side reading? Sergeant York, The Longest Day, and The Great Escape are some favorite older movies suitable for preteens. Hunter
There is a lot more public domain historical fiction for WW1 https://www.gutenberg.org/wiki/World_War_I_(Bookshelf)#Juvenile But there is Dave Dawson and bit more that is free for WW2 https://www.gutenberg.org/wiki/World_War_II_(Bookshelf)#Fiction:_Youth Edited March 23, 2017 by Hunter
