ItoLina
I would like to make a list of books for DS to choose from for assigned reading next year. Just something to get him reading anything other than Yu Gi Oh graphic novels, lol. My main goals are to expose him to different genres, but I also really want them to be really good, interesting books. This kid is not one to pick up a book for fun. He won't read unless I require it, even if it is a book he is enjoying. So, I want to keep it fun for him. Can anyone share their booklist for a 9 year old boy? Thanks! Sneezyone
DS has enjoyed the Classic Starts series this year. So far he's read the Prince and the Pauper, Oliver Twist and he's doing The Last of the Mohicans next. We did the Phantom Tollbooth as a read-aloud. He also enjoyed reading the Boxcar Children and the Jaden Toussaint series.
LauraBeth475
How about the I Survived books?
TABmom
There are a million book lists on Pinterest. Books for boys, books for 9 yo's, books for reluctant readers, etc. I've gotten lots of ideas from there. My 9 year old really became a reader with Harry Potter. Maybe try something a little above his level on audio? My ds didn't start out liking the One and Only Ivan, but liked listening to it in the car.

And yeah, not necessarily looking for great literature at this point, just more hoping to broaden his reading choices and have him enjoy it!
