counselinggirl
Has anyone used Memoria Press Online Academy for AP US History or AP European History? Anyone familiar with Julie Baldwin (teaches APUSH) at Memoria Press Online? Please feel free to PM if you would rather not share publicly. Penelope
I am curious too and would also appreciate a pm. This course is appealing because from the description appears to be a more reasonable workload than PAH or maybe some others. While requiring projects and requiring lots of additional material provides an enriching experience, I am not sure we have time for a course next year that requires up to 15-18 hours per week with everything else planned. OTOH, is one essay per month enough practice for my student to get a 5 on the exam? Maybe that can be remedied by just doing more practice and self-study at home, if needed.

Memoria Press also lists a AP English Lit & Comp class that doesn't include an estimated workload but LOOKS to be less time-intensive than PAH's classes. Does anyone know how many years MP has offered these?

EndOfOrdinary
I will experiment with searches on their forum later this evening. I could not find stats on their websire, so the forums seem the next most logical step.
counselinggirl
I will experiment with searches on their forum later this evening. I could not find stats on their websire, so the forums seem the next most logical step. Any luck finding any info about the stats and such? Hoping someone sees this thread who took AP's with Memoria Press. I emailed Scott Piland (found on website) about general topic (not AP class specific) and he was very kind in helpful. Might email him specifically about the classes but I was just hoping to find someone who took the classes so I could ask a few more questions. I just found recordings of some of the classes. Not sure if this will help? https://www.memoriapressacademy.com/catalog?pagename=previews Although, I know that the APEH teacher is different for next year. However, the APUSH teacher is the same teacher listed under the General US History - Mrs. Baldwin.
EndOfOrdinary
There was very little AP anything on their forums. It very much so did not seem like the bulk of their business is coming from parents who are even considering much about these style classes. Much more in the K-8 realms. A major bummer. Specific questions to MP are more than likely the route to go. Edited March 1, 2017 by EndOfOrdinary
