Sad news this evening

My husband has had horrific health problems for over decade. It has been quite a rollercoaster of crises.

And his mental health has gotten progressively worse. This last year has been-over-the-top. There have been horrible outbursts and then he doesn't remember them. I've begged and pleaded with him to be evaluated.

We had a horrible, horrible weekend of him alternately talking about how he's losing his mind and blaming us.

Then he decided that he is losing his mind so badly that we went to the ER, and they did a CT scan and sent us home with a psychiatric crisis. I guess I can't blame them. They're pretty limited on what they can do.

He decided to move out, and by then I was shot. I told him go ahead. He's been threatening that for months. So he packed up and left. I have his keys, and we even signed a separation statement as recommended by the lawyer I saw several months ago.

He called me just awhile ago and made sure I knew that he had arrived safely and gave me his room number.

I told him that I hope that he still goes to his Tuesday appointment which was to be a dementia evaluation, but that I am not coming.

I don't know what to pray for here but I am TIRED. The teens and I are doing fine. The therapist we've been seeing completely predicted this, and we'll go see her sometime this week or the next.

:grouphug:  This all must be very draining and difficult.  I wish there were ways we could make it better, but at least know we're here for you to vent to and hold on to.

Yes, we have a lot of support. I called several local friends.

My beloved aunt actually called as we were preparing to go to the ER because she had a "feeling" that it was a very bad day for me. Tonight she listened to the whole story and offered to fly out, but it's a long flight for an 80 y.o. I told her not to at this point.

I'm so sorry. I'll pray for you and your family.

As others have already said, we are here if you need to talk or to vent, or if there is anything else we can do to help you.

I think it took a lot of courage on your part to let him leave, and right now, it sounds like it's the best option for you and your kids.

What a sweet aunt!

I am so sorry for your troubles. I feel terrible for all of you. But I know you must feel peaceful to have the drama stop for now.
