Do you have a certain decade of music you listen to most?

In the house we listen to Oldies. I don't know what years they're playing but the channel is called Oldies.

In the car I listen to the 80s on Sirius XM and DH always listens to the 70s.

We listen to classical in the bed at night while we read.

My kids all love this music. Dd18 has impressed both high school and one college teacher with her knowledge of 80s music.

At home our radio is set to a Contemporary Christian (music) radio station.  But in the car when we're traveling, we look for Oldies or Classic Rock preferring 60s to 80s.  We can't really narrow it down to a set decade, but if we wanted 10 years, we'd pick 75 to 85.

One of our favorite stations is nicknamed "The Dinosaur."  ;)

We also like Greatest Hits stations - where all they play are the Greatest Hits from yesteryear (not sure they limit the years).

Middle son texted me last week to let me know the Cafe he was studying in had just played Neil Diamond's Love on the Rocks - sparking some nostalgia in him.

At home, I just listen to Pandora when I clean or exercise, so not a lot, but I listen to current upbeat dance type music to motivate myself.

In the car I have Sirius radio and mostly listen to Alt Nation (current alternative music) but when songs I don't like come on, I switch it to 1st Wave, which is 80's alternative music.

Alt Nation has started playing some songs I really don't want my kids listening to (Blood in the Cut, Middle Fingers, etc....) and I have been thinking of not paying for it anymore and just using Pandora.

I tend to listen to the 90's and 00's a lot just by default, that was the music imprinted on my brain when it was most mushy and impressionable. But I have music I love from most eras, including a fair bit of classical and broadway. And I can get down with a good club mix too.

Probably more 90's heavy than anything else, but we really do listen to a wide variety of eras from the 60's to the present. Mostly rock and pop, but also some hip hop, electronica, bluegrass, and world music. I think most people tend to like the music of their youth or college years best and while I like new music, I do find myself falling back on the stuff that made an impression on me when I was younger.

I have such a wide range of music I listen to.

Classical most mornings but that program also has other genres there as well such a Broadway, jazz, Hawaiian, BlueGrass.  I listen on my local NPR station and all of us like a lot of their programs- Morning Blend, Performance  Today, Invisible City (alt rock of today) Reelin in the Years- (music from 50s-80's), Band music, world music, Thistles and Shamrock (celtic), blues, bluegrass/folk,  Then other times we listen to the other NPR station which is mostly jazz.

But I will like listening to things from many, many decades.  I like more of the music of the 60-80's but there is plenty I like from 90s. 00. and now too.  I don't like heavy metal and hardly any rap (only some of the very early rap that was more melodic).  I don't generally listen to country though I do like some country artists like Johnny Cash, Toby Keith, Dolly Parton and a few more.

I like electronic music and have recently been turned onto electronic swing music by my youngest.  I like swing and big band music too.  Zydeco, some Christian, Indian (Hindu) music and more and more and more.

Other than heavy metal and rap, I don't like what I term sappy songs with poor melodies, and I basically judge music by melody and rhythm- not by lyrics usually.  Though some songs I like are made better by their lyrics. However, my hearing is such that I often don't understand what people are saying anyway.

We have Sirius XM. Usually we listen to the 70's channel, and occasionally the 80's channel. But my favorite channel is the 40's Junction. Oh, and Willie's Roadhouse.

There's a lot of current rap that is pretty melodic.  B.O.B. has more melodic stuff, and it's on the whole less obscene than a lot of other rap (it's not what you might call gangster rap).

The more serious rap, put out generally by people who lived the life, as it were, is very yang and harder to appreciate if you are female, imo.

In the car, I listen to a mix of music I've bought on iTunes.  There is music from every decade there from the 50s' to now.

I don't like any particular decade or style.  I don't know how to describe what I like, but when I hear it, I know.  I'm very picky about what I like and don't like very much.

I don't listen to much. When I do, it's a couple of very specific artists or my very short favorites list, which is largely a few favorites from the 90s plus a couple of others.

DH likes 80s and 90s rock and metal. I hear him and DS1 play a lot of that on their guitars. I tease DH that he's reliving our middle school dances with the disco ball in the cafeteria.

I listen to the 90's occasionally but usually 2000 to now.  I'm mostly into what is called alternative pop-rock and a lot of indie to indie punk. I recently found k. flay which defies genre. IMO.  A little pop a little punk, and she raps.  I usually stream spotify at home and in the car that way I listen to only what I like, we have the family plan so that's what everyone uses.

Yes. For years, we have listened, a lot, to "KOOL" (KEAG-FM) in Anchorage. Oldies music I think it is from the 70s and 80s.   My wife has about 10,000 favorite songs and she likes many kinds of music.  I like Barbra Streisand and Melissa Manchester and some things from the 50s and 60s.  We listen to a lot of Classical Music. I think DD has Classical Music on sometimes when she is studying.   Classical Music helps with Math Skills and (apparently) also with Memory. I like the "Beach Boys". My late Mother worked for a CPA and Attorney and they were clients, so she knew them and some other singers..

60's. Because the 60's were groovy.
