madteaparty
I'm starting a 'round the world trip with the kids and will start with the region I know the very least (basically nothing) about. Looking for book recs for me, DS (then age 13 but reads high school level stuff easily) and (then ) 6 yr old DD. I know I am spending some time in Indonesia with a friend that lives there, and will likely do both Bali and Borobudur with her, but other than that, I'll just be an ignorant little tourist with kids in tow... Tanaqui
Well, then, I didn't include any books set in India! But if I may, you want to take some time and read The Grand Plan to Fix Everything anyway. It is sooooooo adorable.

Upward Journey
The first one is fiction and makes a good read-aloud. Would be especially good to study to study tsunamis and orangutans while you read it. Might be upsetting to your 6yo, but my 12yo loved it.
