Cecropia
SIL is getting married in August! I have not been to a wedding in a long time. Actually, I haven't been to any kind of formal event in many years. Exciting!I'm already starting to think about what to wear. Yes, the event is 6 months away, but it's not going to be so easy to pin this down. Plus, it's just fun to shop. Anyone want to help? Here's the list of guidelines:- I'll still be breastfeeding my then-1yo, and I need easy access. A bodice with a functional button down front would be my top choice, but wrap style might work.- I prefer more modesty than less with the neckline. High collars (like a mandarin collar, shirt collar, turtleneck) and rounded collars look better on me than other styles.- I have a diastasis recti/poochy abdomen. I used to be an hourglass shape with a small bust, but now my middle is messed up from having kids so I have inched over to the rectangle shape, I think? Shoulders are too broad to be a pear. From the front I still have a defined waist, but from the side I look somewhat pregnant. I cannot tolerate control wear like Spanx, so I need clothing that can work with my tummy without binding it. I have to avoid tight waistbands, but very baggy waists will make me look more pregnant than not... it needs to be somewhat fitted in that area.- The ceremonies all take place indoors, so no need to dress as cool/lightweight as possible.- I prefer some kind of sleeve over sleeveless.- I prefer natural fabrics or poly blends over 100% polyester. Breathable fabrics would be optimal.- It needs to be a style I can really dance in. I plan on taking advantage of this party!- I would love to wear a retro 1950's-or-earlier replica style. I would totally rock a full skirt with a petticoat. This isn't a set-in-stone requirement, just an "I wish..."- The venue appears to be semi-formal and everything takes place in the evening. Anyway this is SIL, and Dh and Ds's are likely to have some roles during the day plus being singled out for pictures, so our family wardrobe generally needs to look nicer than the average guest's.- $100 max budget.I've been slowly losing the baby weight and figure that by summer I'll weigh 130 lbs or less (height 5'6"). [so far I've found one dress that might work, but it is booooring!!!]
HomeAgain
This one is on the upper end of your budget, but kind of cute. (So is the rest of the site. ;) )
gardenmom5
I can come up with ideas from what you are describing - i would go with two piece, and probably custom make something.

Bambam
Okay, so I clicked here thinking I would see neat photos of a "hunting" themed wedding. But not today. Guess I've lived in TX too long.

littlebug42
I have had great success getting dresses from eshakti.com. You can customize their dresses to different lengths, necklines and sleeves so you can really get the dress you want. They will also custom make the dress to your measurements. If you sign up for a new account, you can also save $25 on your first purchase and get free shipping. I have several dresses from here that are well made and I love them. They have several dresses in that vintage style also.

J-rap
I don't have a particular outfit to suggest, but Banana Republic has some really lovely skirts (all lengths), plus lots of pretty flowy-style blouses. Loft has nice blouses too.

stephanier.1765
My son is getting married next January. Recently his fiancé and I went to Ross and found two dresses that were perfect. With the prices being so reasonable, I bought them both so we can decide later on which one I should wear. One of them is a wonderful mirror to her dress with the same collar and sleeves. The exception is that it is normal dress length. So darn pretty!
Carol in Cal.
I did too, thinking camo... Colorado just reinstated the wearing of florescent pink for hunting again--doesn't all have to be orange! Wait, you mean pink camo is FUNCTIONAL? I had no idea. The things I learn here...

Carol in Cal.
https://www.figure8maternity.com/item/1641108/ezra-drape-front-nursing-dress-royal-diamond-print This is what I would get. Great brand, and it's a light enough color for summer but rich enough for fall as well. I'd get a slinky shawl in ecru or silver to accessorize it. Or knit one in a fine, silky yarn.

I misread the title and thought it had to do with ferret sleuths...
G5052
I'd go with a skirt and a flowy blouse. I'm in the process of losing weight (down thirty-five, twenty to go), and I have a long black skirt with an elastic waist and a blouse that I bought for that very reason. It will get me through events like that for months until I get down to my goal weight. P.S. I live in a county with seven gun stores. And yes, I've actually seen wedding pictures where the wedding party was outfitted in camo. It's an option!
