yvonne
If anyone is interested in online classes w/ a Christian worldview, Wilson Hill is having an "Open Campus" next Tues-Wed-Thurs where you can sit in on an actual class--live, real time, not recorded. (I wish all online providers would do something like this.) I think you can register here. The schedule of classes that you can observe is posted and will be sent to you after you register. Looks like some of the options are..... - Great Conversations 1, 2, 3, 1+4, 5, 6 (Bruce Etter, Bart Martin, Tom Vierra) - Logic 1 & 2 & Rhetoric I - Latin 2 & AP Latin (w/ Joanna Hensley!) - Pre-Algebra, Alg. 1, Alg 2 (Reini) - Honors Comp - Spanish 3 & 4 (Pliego) - Physics
Rosepetal
Thanks for letting us know. After registering would we also get the recordings of the classes?
yvonne
Thanks for letting us know. After registering would we also get the recordings of the classes? You don't get recordings; you get a schedule of which classes meet when on Tues, Wed, Thurs. Then, when a class you're interested in is meeting (on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday of next week,) you log in as a guest (via the link on the schedule they send you,) and sit in on the actual class as it is going on. It's just like if you visited a class in a brick and mortar school... You'd sit in the back and observe quietly, without interacting, since it is a regular class session. I think it's better than a recording because a recording can be carefully selected before being made available. Here, the instructors know there may be visitors sitting in, but it's still more "real" than a pre-selected recording. Downside for PST zone folks is that we might have to get up awfully early for some of them. :) ETA: There are a lot of classes. I can't imagine that they could/would make recordings of all those classes available. Edited January 22, 2017 by yvonne
RootAnn
Anyone else not hear anything at all after submitting information on the registration link?
crazyforlatin
Anyone else not hear anything at all after submitting information on the registration link? Nothing here, no emails, even checked our WHA account. I did get an email from Laura Ruby asking for the student's written permission or something, but when I clicked on it, nothing much happened. I would like to sit in on Honors Composition and Algebra 2. It's not essential, but they offered. I kind of already have an idea of next year's providers, but if it's just fantastic, then I could be swayed over.
crazyforlatin
Hey! I just got an email. Go check your email! I think Laura Ruby sent out something that was not quite right the first time and corrected it to provide the right info with a link to all other links. Ann, PM me if you haven't received it. RootAnn
Got it! Very late notice, IMO. We are going to try to see at least Span 3 and 4. We might try Alg 2 if I can prop her eyelids open that early.

LOL Right there with you, though I did attend the other GCs. I like them, but we need more details, man! I didn't even see a booklist on WHA. I asked CLRC for a sample GC class. RootAnn
I got in on the Spanish 3 class today. Wow, does she talk fast. She was very encouraging to the kids & today's class was really small. Am going to try to have DD sit in on Spanish 4 tomorrow. I have to say that although the grammar & vocab are all what she's doing in Span 3, having a native speaker makes things a lot more challenging for the student! I like how WTMA has the course syllabus as well as a general description accessible on the website. Very helpful in trying to get an idea of how the class works, specifics of what is taught etc.
