Carrie12345
My household is a rather snarky, sarcastic, sometimes silly one. So, when my tween girls started to become obnoxious and infuriating, I'm talking some MAJOR attitude, given our starting point! One of them has always been the type to blow her lid, then calm down and have a sweet, loving, helpful period. The other, just no. That girlio is me, amplified, with the added bonus of all of the things that drive me insane about my dh! It's been a very, very rocky couple of years. I have heard the legends about the body snatchers sometimes returning our real children to their bodies, but I believed they intended to keep this one forever. But, for the past few days, this child has been saying things like "Yes". "Okay." "Sure, Mom." And, "Oh, I did that already." I've even heard, "I'll play a game with you!" to her brother. I've asked her if she's okay. If she's high. If I need to call the doctor. Instead of breathing fire at me, she laughs. Could this really be it?!?
foxbridgeacademy
Yes, but it may not be permanent, yet. The fire breather often returns for long visits.
Guest
Mine returned around 17-ish. The body snatchers had them from around 13-ish until then. It's a long ride around the dark side of the moon. But it's nice when they return, isn't it?

Maybe I should hide her in the basement for a while.

Ds almost 17 stood in the kitchen talking to me about global warming and vaccinations for an hour last night.
Angie in VA
Last week ds was ouside shooting hoops. I went to the compost bin or the clothesline and he said, "Wanna play?" There was no way I wasn't going to play. Instead of horse, we played "It." LOL. He let me win, though he denies. Smart kid.
clementine
I hope it's more than just a glimpse! Enjoy it while you can!!!
Anne in CA
I found a list of things my dd made to make her a better person. One was to talk to her parents about her day, lol. Soooo.... it may be more calculated than you think, but I'm happy for you! Live in the moment and don't worry about the fire breather that may return at any time.

I love you, 17th birthday.
