MistyMountain
I pulled my 2nd grader after winter break and started homeschooling. So far I just pulled him and not my other two kids. My youngest only goes to school for 2.5 hours so with such a short day I still can do stuff with her at home. He was doing poorly this year even though conceptually he does good at math and he is reading above grade level now. He was having trouble with following directions, multi tasking and especially handwriting. His teacher was done trying things and just could not give him the time he needed to understand what he was suppose to be doing. My oldest is struggling in math but she keeps up with the output in a year where the output increased a lot and she spends much less time on homework. She wants to stay at school. I can use after school time to focus on her catching her up in math now that ds has no homework.

OneStepAtATime
Congratulations on finding a way to educate all the kids that may fit each of them as individuals. Good luck and best wishes on your new journey (FWIW, I pulled DS out in mid-2nd grade, too).
