scrapbookbuzz
Good morning! Posting this here since it has to do with AP curriculum. I recently purchased Sonlight's AP Psychology curriculum and I'm definitely excited to be able to help my Aspie daughter learn about psychology from a Biblical perspective first before she has to navigate some very interesting secular psych classes in college. Her course load this semester is heavy ... for an Aspie. College level chemistry and college level psych in the same semester. Oi! Anyway, I decided that since the goal of this AP psych is not to take the exam but for the content within the curriculum, I am not going to make her do all the AP exam prep that comes with the curriculum. It's early here yet so I may not be making sense. BUT I just wanted to encourage any of you mamas feeling a bit overwhelmed by trying to fit in all the schoolwork for your advanced learner and/or teen. I think it really is okay to teach them from an AP curriculum without the actual goal being taking the AP exam. ;)
lmrich
I agree. My dd (9th grade) really wanted to take Human Geography, and the only one offered was AP. She is truly interested in people and places. I do not want her to have the added pressure of the exam but would rather have her enjoy the course.
