I'm looking through the 12 days of CHristmas and seeing that "games" were Day 1 - Sunday?

Does anyone know if that's right???

Last year boardgames were half off on Friday Dec. 4th.   If I missed this I am BEYOND aggravated.  I expected it to be the 2nd or the 5th.  I never thought they'd do it on a weekend. :(

40% off strategy games today - pretty disappointed at the selection. Tokaido was the only one I saw that I was interested in. :/

Yeah, this is the first time I haven't bought any. I think it is the selection, but it could also be that we have so many already. We enjoy Lost Cities and Dominion which are available.

This Star Trek game is actually quite good:

Star Trek: Five Year Mission Board Game https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01068FP3W/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_WkcsybDSWBRQF

And Big Book of Madness has been hot in the local Board Game circles ... I played once and it was pretty good... not rush out and buy it great but I did like it:

The Big Book of Madness Board Game https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ZITZG52/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_MmcsybG0N0WVR

(Despite the name it's not really Cthulhu-y)

I played Big Book of Madness twice on Thanksgiving. (Lost both times.)  I haven't played a too many cooperative games, but this one was nice in that it didn't take too long to grasp how to play, and it also didn't require an app.  I really dislike the app-driven games that have been making an appearance.

DBIL was surprised that we lost both times, they usually win when they play two players.  Reading a few reviews, it does seem as though the game is harder to beat with more players (we had five).  Both times we lost it was for the same reason- we ran out of madness cards, thus ending the game.  I could definitely see how less players would affect that, as there are more madness cards to go around.

Regardless, it was pretty good, and if you're into cooperative gaming, that's a very good price on it!

Just as an FYI:

Well, I have to add that if you don't have King of Tokyo - my kids love the game.  I'm less a fan, but they really do like it  a LOT.

Dominion is phenomenal - it's one of our favorites and Intrigue is the favorite addition.

Chicago Express gets strong reviews on Boardgame Geek: https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/363851/chicago-express-queen-edition-inexperienced but if I were buying I have others higher on my list and wouldn't be tempted because of the "sale."

Lost Cities looks good for someone that wants a two player game.  I'd rather have 7 Wonder Duel but in case someone is looking.

Trying to decide between Lost Cities and Big Book of Madness for myself and DH. Our favorites are Pandemic, Dominion, Stone Age, and Catan. It's usually just the two of us, but we sometimes have game nights with other couples. Anyone familiar with both of those know which we'd enjoy more? I'm leaning toward Big Book of Madness sounding funner, but Lost Cities is cheaper! :D :P

Even less in reality...  Dominion was ~$29 earlier this week so at ~$26 that is more like a 10% discount... though I am excited about the $5 Magic:Arena of the Planeswalkers expansion.

I'm no help on the last three questions, but wanted to comment on this - I have really been looking for something just the two of us - thought about Lost Cities as it is for two.  (The board game is for more.) I looked at the reviews on BGG and then decided that I'd rather just get 7 Wonders Duel if I was going to do it and forgo the "sale."  Hm.

No help.  Still sad over this sale, lol.

This explains why everything I wanted to put into my cart for my Christmas this year was sold out! (And if I bought it all, I'd be spending a good $1500 on games alone, just for me. Forget about asking if we spend too much on our kids, do we spend too much on me? YES WE DO.)
