Thought we could start a thread for Christmas shopping. Need inspiration!

So far I'm considering some of the following...

DS10

-Little Bits parts to add on to a kit he already has. Considering the arduino...

-Lego, because it is always the #1 toy used in our house

-Binoculars, as we are hiking more and using inaturalist.org to post sightings

-Books:

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

DD14

-Circular knitting needles and wild yarn

-Subscription to a writers magazine (still looking)

-Harry Potter trivial pursuit

-renew subscription to Chem Matters

For both... geocaching travelbugs.

Her birthday is 12/14 (turning 5)

Hey, she and my DD#2 are very close - mine will turn 5 on 12/8! If your DS will be 3 in April like mine, I'll think things are eerie. ;)

I'm not sure how much of my kids' gift lists is related to their being accelerated learners, but just in case my gifts spark ideas for anyone else...

DD#1 (will be 8 in January):

* Set of Prismacolor colored pencils, plus a blending pencil and a sharpener

* Set of Rainbow Magic fairy books

* Personalized unicorn notebook (from this Etsy seller)

* Set of stamps with unicorns/fairies/rainbows

* Book of "brain games"

* Birthday gift - joke book

* Birthday gift - personalized unicorn necklace (from this Etsy seller)

* Birthday gift - not completely decided, but maybe a gift card to a craft store so she can pick out supplies for a project of her own design

DD#2 (5 in December):

* Book - Mesmerizing Math

* Book - Shel Silverstein's Falling Up

* Camelot Jr (I just discovered SmartGames and am super excited about this for her!)

* Melissa & Doug Secret Decoder book

* Bible coloring/activity book

* Birthday - rubber stamp with her name on it

* Birthday - D'Aulaire's Greek Myths

* Birthday - Melissa & Doug color-by-number book

DS (2.5)

* Busy Farm

* Learning Journey Match It! Counting

* A couple of "quiet book" pages (from this Etsy seller)

* A box of wipes, because seriously, he'll still just be excited about ripping the wrapping paper off

I know DS will also get Magnatiles from my parents, but I can't remember what else the kids are getting from other family members.

Haha. Nope he turns 3 in January so he's technically not 2.5, but it's so much easier to say that.

Currently on DD's (6.5 yo) wish list:

- Board/card games: Gobblet Battle Sheep, New York 1901, Vikings on Board, Amadora, Dr Eureka, Aztack, There's a Moose in the House, Monopoly, Ticket to Ride expansions or the original (we have Europe)

- Geek & Co Monster Sewing Workshop, a couple other Geek & Co craft kits

- Knot-a-Quilt

- Calvin and Hobbes books

- 3D printing pen

- Lego Creator sets

- Dixit expansion kits

- a pile of Thames and Kosmos kits

- art books for fingerprint art, making art out of the recycling bin, paper airplanes

- more Keva planks

We don't celebrate Christmas, but she'll get a couple of these things from relatives. I'm thinking I'll get her a pile of art kits this winter to keep busy indoors - latch hook, the sewing kit on the list, maybe knitting? I was never very art-focused, and she is, so I have a hard time figuring out what she is ready for.
