I use the Barton app with my ds, and even with that my ds had behaviors for a while. He finally chilled out and started using it properly. So either put magnets on the tiles or switch to writing or an app or typing. And obviously you'll need to compact, etc. to get through to where the material is more challenging. You can also dictate the full sentences, if that's age-appropriate. You could also have her spell the words aloud, either forward or backward. MerryAtHope Posted October 28, 2016 Share Posted October 28, 2016 If the words in AAS 1 are too easy, you may want to fast-track until you get to harder words/concepts. It's also fine to just use the tiles for demonstrations, and let her practice spelling in writing (which is the ultimate goal anyway).
