Black-eyed Suzan
We're having one of those days. Please help me brainstorm ways to make work like copywork and spelling fun and engaging. DS10 has become inured to it, but I can't wait for my almost 7 year old to feel the same. Thanks!
Dmmetler
We had a year of copywork of jokes and riddles-the more groanworthy the better. Not a great model for awesome writing, but st least it made handwriting practice more giggly than teary. Scholastic has an e-book of ones in cursive.
Jackie
I have StartWrite software and used it to make our own copywork - jokes, tongue twisters, some of the most ridiculous lines from books we've read (Ronald Dahl books are especially good for this), and random science and history facts she'll enjoy And a fountain pen with ink in her favorite color.
Sarah0000
DS likes Pictures in Cursive. Other than that I try to change up the format to keep it interesting. Sometimes he copies the moral from RFP Aesop books, sometimes he draws a picture from a step by step drawing book then copies the title. Now that his birthday and then Christmas is coming up he'll do copywork on thank you notes and holiday cards.
Pegs
DS6 copies lines from favourite songs (I *ahem* adjust them to make full sentences), or we pull a funny sentence or two from Beast Academy. He also likes to listen to music during copywork time.
