Tawlas
Is this true? I'm finding so many conflicting reports from a few months to a few years ago. Does anyone know? In Canada, can I use my kindle app or a kindle fire to experience Immersion reading (highlighted text in an ebook while listening to the audio version) ? If not, I'm so so disappointed :(
OneStepAtATime
I don't see why it wouldn't work but couldn't you look on the Amazon website to confirm?

Arcadia
I read that it won't work with an Amazon Canada account but would work with an Amazon US or UK account. It is not the location but the account used. Email Amazon Canada and ask to be sure.

It is not the location but the account used. Email Amazon Canada and ask to be sure. Does this mean that ebooks I've bought with an amazon canada account wouldn't work? I'm so confused. I guess I should email them. You wouldn't think it would be that hard to figure this out!
Heathermomster
Have you considered asking this question on the Chat or General Board?

PeterPan
What device are you looking at purchasing? I'm looking on the amazon.ca site, and they don't even list the new fire hd 8. I don't know why the newest products aren't available in Canada. :( If you already have some other tech that can run apps (phone, tablet, whatever), then install the most up to date version of the kindle app, try it with the free samples, and see what happens. I'm just surprised because when I search things on the amazon.ca site a LOT is not popping up that we can do at amazon.com So I don't know. CanadianAlison+3boys
I am in Canada and as far as I can tell it isn't possible here. I've tried everything I can find online to try and it just doesn't work :( I am very very disappointed as well. If anyone *in Canada* figures out a way to make it work I'd love to know.

You wouldn't think it would be that hard to figure this out! If Amazon Canada can't give you a definite answer, let me know. We'll be at Toronto mid October and I can try with my kindle using my Amazon US account. Just need to give me a free title which you want me to test and I'll buy while at the hotel or while on megabus.
PeterPan
But if she lives in CA and has to use a CA acct, it won't matter. I think it has happened with other things (US in europe able to access things that the other people there couldn't get, blah blah).
Incognito
Thank my lucky stars I never agreed to convert my account over to Canada! They keep asking me, and I say no. I still have a US address too, thankyouverymuch! If you have a US account and are in Canada, it does work. I don't know about a Canadian account, but I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't. We've had such a hard time getting our firetv to work properly. When I last called Amazon about it they said it was because we are in Canada. Tawlas
Thanks everyone. It's so disappointing that all these great things are advertised, but they neglect to be specific about silly little things like an ENTIRE country can't use the best parts. I haven't phoned or emailed yet - life got away on me - but I'll come back and update when I do.
