If the seal was good, and there's not foul smell, etc., I'd at least try it before tossing.

 

I have had some home canned items that fermented and went rather vinegary. Still edible, but why would you want to?

 

If it still tastes ok to you (or to an unpicky kid, lol), then I say eat it.

As long as it hasn't fermented or gone totally mouldy, I'd taste it, and eat it if it tastes good. If it smells/tastes fine but you're still nervous about eating it as is, use it for jam tarts or something else you can bake in a hot oven.  BTW, the most special jam I ever ate was a jar that my grandmother had made, it somehow got lost at the back of the pantry and we ate it about 10 years after she had died.
