thessa516
I'm avoiding shopping for a new dress, but I have this dress (not my eBay, just the quickest pic I could find online of my dress). It's black and white, 3/4 sleeve, I think it falls below my knees. The wedding is at 7 PM. I don't think it's formal, and the invitations aren't the traditional type, but made to look like chalkboard. I'd wear it with black pantyhose and black pumps. Too much black? Or just fine for an evening wedding?
bolt.
Yes, but I'd re-think black pantyhose. They wouldn't be my first choice. Maybe a colourful necklace and/or earings?
alisoncooks
Ooh, what about nude hose and red pumps? I'd wear that dress, no worries. Prairie~Phlox
I agree on the black hose, no matter where worn at I wouldn't wear black with it.
J-rap
I like it! You can always throw on a red or teal beaded necklace for color.
Caroline
I think you can wear it. I would skip the black hose, though. (But I haven't worn hose in a lot of years, so I'm not an expert.)
Chris in VA
I have a similar dress and have worn it to many weddings. Agree no black hose.
Crimson Wife
Nude hose or bare legs, and colorful accessories including shoes. LBD's are common at weddings these days but worn with colorful accessories to make them look festive rather than somber.
thessa516
Yay! Thank you everyone. I'll nix the hose and get a fun necklace!
sassenach
Yay! Thank you everyone. I'll nix the hose and get a fun necklace! If you have a Charming Charlie's near you, that place is the bomb. Cheap and cute. So many colors.
zoobie
Is this a formal or cocktail level attire event? I think it's fine otherwise. Definitely agree with everyone on black hose--go nude or bare legged.
QueenCat
Is this a formal or cocktail level attire event? I think it's fine otherwise. Definitely agree with everyone on black hose--go nude or bare legged. I concur....... I'd make sure that with the time of day, it's not formal. If not formal, that'd be a great dress for a dressy not formal or casual wedding.

IsabelC
I'd say the dress is fine but add a bit of bling or colorful accessories.(But if you're really unsure, phone a couple of other women to check what they're wearing!)
