Earthmerlin
I'm looking for an upper primary Spanish math book recommendation. I'd like to delve into multiplication, division, fractions, rounding off, etc. with my daughter & need a Spanish resource to help me with this endeavor. Any ideas? mom2bee
I recently purchased a copy of Matematicas para saber (ISBN: 978-0-669-539595-2) which is a very useful reference book to have. It's full color and covers: place value, basic operations, mental math and estimation, calculations with natural and decimal numbers, fractions, algebraic thinking, graphs, statistics and probability, measurement and problem solving. It is a 400+ page desk reference for all of K-8 math. After introducing the topic from the book, you could then use any generic workbook to practice the skills taught OR if you wanted you could purchase Mammut Matematicas (Math Mammoth in Spanish) which covers all of 1-8 math but in Spanish Math Mammoth is ONLY topical, not by grade level. Thanks SO much for these titles! Is the 1st available in the US? I looked on Amazon for it & couldn't locate it....
Rosie_0801
MEP has the first four years in Spanish: http://www.cimt.org.uk/projects/mep/index.htm People seem to think they run a year ahead of the US, so maybe there will be some useful things there free for the printing. Ariston
Yes, we loved MEP! We used it in Spanish for a few years, can't remember which ones.
Ariston
I'm not familiar with this program, Math in Focus Singapore Math but it looks like it is available in Spanish as well.
Mabelen
You can always try the Spanish website for Khan Academy: https://es.khanacademy.org/

mom2bee
Thanks SO much for these titles! Is the 1st available in the US? I looked on Amazon for it & couldn't locate it.... I bought my copy out of the used book store up the street, but when I did an Amazon search I had to find the publisher (GREAT SOURCE) and I filtered the settings by Spanish and found this page. I haven't had the chance to look through and read my book extensively, but I want to revise what I'd said about its scope because I looked up the series in English and apparently this is a the 2nd book in a series Math to Learn (1-2) Math to Know (3-4) Math at Hand (5-6) Math on Call (6-8) Algebra to Go (8-12) Geometry to Go (8-12) I will have to read my copy more closely, because I do feel that the mathematical coverage in this book is broader than just 3rd-4th grade. For example, it covers rules of divisibily, positive and negative numbers, functions and graphing ordered pairs. The explanations are clear and the reading level/language is 3rd-4th grade, but I think that this could be useful to students at least through 6th. I'll have to read the book more closely and report back. I'll check out the English version of the books, because I seem to recall Math at Hand and Math on Call being very similar in content when I looked at them.
