I got a lot of my cleaning done yesterday before my parents arrived, but there is always a list, isn't there!

youngest to bus

daughter to school

wash kitchen floor (I can do this after dd goes to school and before my parents get up, otherwise my mom will be down on her hands and knees helping me!) - she got up too early!

buy new shower curtain for boys' bathroom - how/when did it get so nasty?

pick dd up from school

piano lesson for dd - tomorrow!

fh practice

make dinner

dd to work

laundry - always laundry :(

Traveled to Melbourne for ceremony. I Am in a motel room all by myself. I cannot believe it.

Just spoke to DH on the phone. Twins have been a real handful for him all day. They have been challenging because they do not handle change and I am not there. DH said it gives him insight into how challenging they were for me when he went to Canada twice this year. Raising these twins is a real combined effort.it is more than what one person can do by themself.

First day of school!  I know it's a bit taboo around here but:  whew!  Structure!  Routine!  It is as important for me as for them.

I fell asleep last night and didn't get up when I intended to (6am).  So I was scrambling to get the kids' bags packed while they ate breakfast.  There were a few things I didn't have right at hand - stuff I saved from last year and wasn't where I thought I put it.  So those items will have to go tomorrow.  I'm too old to worry about such things.

So ... I'm looking forward to finding out what this teacher is like, the schedule (especially the sports schedule), how he communicates, and what I will likely be doing to hold up my end of the deal.

Today's list:

  • Pack kids' school bags.  [done]
  • Kids ready & off to school.  [done]
  • Take out the garbage.  [done]
  • Pet care.  [done]
  • Clean up some kid clutter.  [done]
  • AHG newsletter.
  • Work.
  • A little reading.
  • A little exercise.
  • A little housework.
  • Get kids' 1st day of school photo when they come home.
  • Kids' work.
  • Meet handyman who will put up kids' bedroom blinds.
  • Some laundry?
  • Pack remaining school items.
  • Kids (or one kid) to gymnastics.
  • Kids to bed.
  • Work.
