BonnieLK
Will you tell me how you approached different topics? Did you stick to the "Preschool and Kindergarten Concepts" section of the site or did you venture into addition and subtraction to 10, and so on? What did your math "sessions" look like? Thanks in advance.
ReadingMama1214
We plan to use It for PreK and I am thinking I will start with the K concepts. If we do more, great, but not planning on it. I plan to work through the K concepts with c rods.
Sarah0000
I mostly followed the topic progression from Singapore 1-3 and looked up videos on Education Unboxed when I need a little help using the rods to show the concept. I ignored the grade levels completely.
Sarah0000
To add, my math sessions looked like DS flipping through Singapore or Miquon or math picture books, asking questions, and if necessary me getting the rods to show a concept. We mostly do unschooling for math.
ReadingMama1214
We plan to use it and do the K concepts. I may do some of the preschool ones since Dd is 4.5, but I think she's beyond them. I plan to start with K and see how it goes. We may do CSMP as well.
BonnieLK
Thanks Sarah. We've been working through Mathematical Reasoning Beginning 2 and I feel like u need something that follows through on math concepts we don't get, rather than just spiraling off to yet more shape recognition. I've been thinking of getting Miquon Orange but I don't want to push too hard...but I don't want to not progress either, if that makes sense.
