The Reading Lesson or Phonics Pathways for a 6 year old?

I will be homeschooling my upcoming 6 year old DD this fall.

She knows all of the letter sounds and can read a few CVC words. I am trying to decide if I should do The Reading Lesson and then do Phonics Pathways for her or should I just start PP from the beginning?

I've used PP with all my kids back 19 years ago. I love it. It works.

I would do PP for phonics then do some I can read readers after a 15 min ir so break.

 

Phonics is different than reading. You need phonics to read, but PP doesn't have reading in it.

So. Both lol

 

But do the phonics first to warm up and learn phonics , then use readers. Really any that you like but the I can reads are a great place to start and it's short and they feel so accomplished and proud when they're done :)

I'm just jumping in because I posted above about dd using PP with dgs and wanting some readers for him. I was asking for suggestions. So the "I CAN READ," series is the one sold everywhere?

I have no experience with Phonics Pathways. I got the Reading Lesson for my son and I didn't like it. The way it teaches is fun, but throughout the book there are incomplete sentences and words are not capitalized. It irked me to no end. We are doing RLTL now and I like it.
