Dmmetler Posted July 5, 2016 Share Posted July 5, 2016 Two years ago the day before we were supposed to leave for the big herpetology conference, DH was recovering from a major gallstone attack. Last year, we had a cat at the vet having surgery.. This year, I went in to print the hotel reservation, and couldn't find the confirmation number. No problem-I'll just log into my online Marriott account, right? No reservation there, either. Called the hotel, and not only could the person not find my reservation, but couldn't find a reserved block for the conference. Uh....(DH figures someone along the way misspelled "Icthyologists" or "Herpetologists". Anyway, a credit card and an average of $75 extra a night later, we have at least one room reservation for the correct hotel-in a room which includes free cocktails (it also includes free breakfast, free Internet, and free parking, which we'll pass on to DD's mentor, who is driving. All told, it might actually end up being about the same as the conference rate, which didn't include any of those things). Just hoping I only actually get billed for one.
