CindyJ
I just bought one for each of my dd's, and I noticed that they have gone to chapters rather than lessons, and I cannot tell if they are supposed to do a chapter a day or a week. Does anyone here have the new spelling CD's? Thanks much.
DawnUK
My children ue them, and it's a chapter a week. They can be done much faster than that, though, but I prefer them to linger over the lessons. --Dawn
Arch at Home
My dd is using them. Technically it is a chapter a week. But tbh she often spends more than a week on a chapter and frequently goes back for refresher courses as spelling is not her strong point. PeterPan
It takes my dd 45 minutes to go through all the activities for 1 chapter, so really it just depends on how much time you have. My dd enjoys it, so I usually give her time to work through an entire chapter when she gets on. I just can't give her that much time every day, lol. It's tons of fun though and really good for their typing, a nice bonus!
April in WA
Ladies, One of my children is using the old Calvert spelling for the second year in a row and I have seen fantastic results. Previous to this his spelling was atrocious. I have heard from others in the past that the new version of the spelling cd is not as good. Do you have any specifics you can compare for me? I am concerned I may not be able to buy the 5th grade old version used and want to know ahead of time if I'm going to buy the new version or look for something else. My son and I LOVE the self-teaching computer aspect of this program. Your thoughts are appreciated. Blessings, April in WA
