Annie Elle
I always thought of Kahn Academy as a math supplement, and a list of math videos to help understand different topics. It has changed and appears to be a whole curriculum. Is anyone familiar with the new format? It looks like students have their own account and it checks their progress, having them work on problems until mastery. It also appears to be free. Is it still a math supplement or a whole curriculum? I would love to hear from those who have used the new format.
Elizabeth 2
It is honestly what you make of it. My boys use it for fun review. I also use the videos when the instructions in MM aren't sufficient for DS10 to understand. The program will automatically review previous topics mastered after awhile. I also have a friend who has had issue keeping her severely ADHD daughter focused to work. It works as their curriculum for her because it engages and she is learning. I am listed as her teacher for outside accountability, and one advantage is the ability to force a higher number of practice problems before students can move forward. So. Sign up. Sign up kids. Check out the whole teacher/parent portal. Then decide how you want to use it.

OneStepAtATime
Agree with the above, it is what you make of it. There are some here who use it as their primary program (I recommend staying on top of it, though, and confirming periodically that your student is actually retaining). Others use it as a supplement. It has a LOT of material available and some kids do well with this format. Some need additional work from an outside source for good comprehension/retention.
Pen
My ds has been using it as a main curriculum for prealgebra this year (but also has other resources available, including AoPS and Saxon books), so he has used the new format. And it is free. I can answer specific questions, if there is other info you want.
Jean in Newcastle
It was our only math for five years. We are now moving on with high school but it worked very well for us. If you do an advanced search for posts by me on the subject, I've explained our process many times on the board
