JessReplanted
Stupid and I just can't do this anymore. This is how I am feeling as I am trying to wrap up our school year this week. Four more days and then we will have a whole month off, and I am losing my ever loving mind. This is our 8th year. Wasn't it supposed to get easier? Ugh. prairiewindmomma
:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: My kids are 14, 10, 7, and 3. It's a hard age spread to be sure. Enjoy your time off; may you come back refreshed.
SparklyUnicorn
I'm wrapping up 10 years. These last 2 years have been the most difficult. :grouphug:
mamiof5
I'm sorry! Hope your day, and rest of the week gets better.
Minerva
Four more days? Why? Stop the madness now! You sound like you need a margarita, a massage, a box of chocolates and four extra days to your summer vacation. By the powers vested in me, I hereby proclaim you done for the year. MEmama
Can you send them away on the 5th day and consume mass quantities of guilt free chocolate? Somehow that always balances me. I hope your summer is better!
GinaPagnato
I'm not so sure it gets easier...just different. And, omg, you have a 13 year old AND a 2 year old (pretty much the same thing), with 2 in between who probably feed off each other. Some years are rougher than others. I applaud you for finishing the year and not killing the kids. :grouphug:
lulubelle
Don't let the darkness consume you... I really liked your post and totally get it! We are on year 8. This school year cannot end soon enough for me. I was going to start a new Latin book, but I just don't want to. Enjoy your time off!
Spryte
I was in your shoes last week. You can get through this. Or, like Minerva said, start vacation early! Oddly, we are done for the summer, and DS has gotten up early twice to work on his book, and willingly done a math/logic puzzle book. Wonders never cease. Tanaqui
Three more days and you'll be free From that place of misery No more teaching, no more books No more kids giving you dirty looks (one hopes, anyway)
Suzanne in ABQ
I always plan 180 days, and I always seem to be totally DONE at 172 days. This year, we really are finished with everything early, and I am moving our end of year ITBS up a week so we can just be finished. I recommend you just be done. In school, they'd be going on a field trip one day, watching movies one day, and then having a party the last day. That's what you need to do.

I decided to push everyone to get done because I just can't do it anymore. We would be done if we could be. There are things we have to finish.
Loowit
I have been at this about 10 years and it hasn't gotten better, just different challenges. My boys have three more days, but my DD procrastinated and has at least 4 more weeks. I am so looking forward to a break. We are taking the whole summer due to scheduling with camps and activities. Georgiana Daniels
Can you do modified/shorty days? Or take a few field trips? Or...just stop? What's the worst that can happen if you declare summer break? (We live in a state with no reporting, so your situation may be totally different.) I don't think it gets any easier, in fact, it's getting harder for us. Plus, some years are just better than others.

OneStepAtATime
:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: Think of it this way, if you were a public school teacher, at least in our area, this is the last week of school, tests are over, but they have one week of school left with basically no formal academics to fill the time and now they have to keep maybe as many as 120 kids occupied (4 classes of 30) who are wiggly and bouncing off walls and WAAAAAAAAY ready to be done. :)
