The search engine on this forum stinks. Is it just me? What am I doing wrong?

I'm trying to find a thread that was on here months ago and can't.   It was about Weight Watchers and it had the words "Beyond the Scale" in the title but I can't find it.  
I entered the words "Beyond the Scale" , "Weight Watchers" , "Weight", "Beyond the Scale" then "Beyond" --- entered all these phrases out of quotations and then in quotations.  Then I asked it to search only in the titles.    I did several general searches then narrowed it to the CHAT forum where I'm about 90% sure it was posted.   Can't find it after 15 minutes of looking.  I can't recall the person who posted it to search that way either.     And it's not just THIS search.  I often can't find old threads using the search engine.    I don't want to start new threads on topics/threads that I want to re-read/check for new posts.   

 

I'm wondering if the Weight Watchers thread got deleted but I can't imagine why such a benign topic would be removed.

 

Is this just me that has trouble with this search engine?  What am I doing wrong?

It does stink sometimes.  One trick is to search what you want via google, but add "Well Trained Mind forum" to your search.

It's not you, the search engine is awful. 

 

Go straight to google and do a site search by adding site:forums.welltrainedmind.com to your other key words. 

 

I did that with "beyond the scale" and found this thread from a few months ago:

And I call myself fairly tech saavy!   I used this forum for years before ever posting so I've been "on here" for years; I don't recall it being this finicky "back then."

It used to be better. 

 

After one of the board upgrades, it really tanked for some reason - along with My Content, which is never reliable for me anymore.

Still an awesome forum, I agree;  I too simply miss the old, reliable search engine.

Yep, I another that uses Google, and I just add "welltrainedmind" to any of my searches.  Works like a charm.

Even better on google you can just add "site:welltrainedmind.com" to your search. It then only returns result from this site. Thats my standard way to search here.
