SEGway
Specifically, Middle Ages and Renaissance books. Which do you prefer for the middle school (6th grade) years with a strong reader. And why? TIA
shadah
I think this is a personal choice. Neither is wrong. I liked Guerber better because I like the writing style better. It just clicked for me. I could have read Mills as well. When we get there I will give dd her choice.
Kfamily
We prefer the books by Mills. Her writing style is narrative but not lacking in detail and I love how she incorporates excerpts from primary sources, making it easier for me to add documents, speeches and other primary source books. She covers the history thoroughly but adds in enough cultural elements to keep it well-rounded and interesting. There is one free copy of one of the books by Mills...The Book of the Ancient Romans...I know that it is not the two that you are considering but it may give you an idea of her style. https://archive.org/details/bookoftheancient005955mbp Edited April 14, 2016 by Kfamily
