redquilthorse
We were using BJU for math, but decided to switch to Math in Focus this year to get some more Singapore style instruction. Well, it's not going super well for us. Any suggestions for next year? I will have kids in K, 2, 3, and 6. I would like something with a little more mental math practice and more word problems than BJU, but easier to teach than MIF. I need lots of review, too. Is there something similar in style to BJU but not BJU?
OneStepAtATime
What about CLE combined with some of the MiF word problems and challenge problems, if you have those? Free placement tests on-line for CLE. Lessons in 2nd grade and above are really written to the student. Lots of review in CLE. Math fact practice is separate from the main math lesson so if they are still learning math facts it won't slow them down. Easy on the teacher. The MiF word problems could be done on Fridays. Or you could try using Beast Academy as a family as a supplement to something like CLE.
OneStepAtATime
And you might want to cross post this in the regular thread since this subforum is specific to writing...
