My month with Mother Goose Time...

Okay this is a spin off of my own thread.

For those of you that didn't read, I decided to give Mother Goose Time a try for my 31 month old son. I will also be using some of the circle time stuff with my 7 year old to help him learn german (he is in classes but needs more confidence in speaking Deutsch).

I am documenting all of this on my blog, but I will also be on here talking about it too. I will start on March 2 and go Monday through Saturday with Tuesday's off for swim class.

Please let me know if you have any questions. Oh and yes I do realize the irony in me paying for this curriculum and then changing it for German, however everything is set up now so it shouldn't take me all day to do. ;)

Thank you! We took today off as it is our swim day. Tomorrow we have the dentist but after that we will be doing schooling.

Oh and in case anyone was wondering I was looking on their Facebook page today and they have next year's monthly themes!

September (2016) - Me and my family

October - Down on the farm

November - Community helpers

December - Winter in the woods

January (2017) - Baby animals

February - Nursery rhymes

March - At the pond

April - Birds and eggs

May - Bugs and crawly things

June - Alphabet island

July - Camping

August - Superhero

It should be fun! I guess with April's box we are going to get more information on this. :) Oh and they called me today to welcome me to the Mother Goose family and to see if I had any questions! So nice of them to do that! I haven't even told them that I am blogging about this yet!

This would do kindergarten if you did the math and literacy add on's. http://www.mothergoosetime.com/prek-and-kingergarten/

I told DH that I think I will continue this till my son is at 1st grade level (2019-2020 school year) and then we could jump into AAR, Shiller math, and the rest that we like with ODS. I think he will be ahead of where my ODS was at that age.

I had a moment today where I felt I needed to add to my April MGT the God teachers pack and student pack. So I did. I felt like God told me to do it (there is more to this story then this but you get my point). Thankfully they haven't not shipped my box yet.

So in that light, if anyone would like me to write about my experiences with that next month, please let me know. If you want to know what happened to me that makes me think this, I will be posting tonight on the main part of my blog, a rare mildly political post tonight.

Link to review is all over this thread or www.OurUnplannedLife.com Click on Mother Goose Time and there are 5 posts there. :)

Let me know if you have questions!

Mother Goose time updated their curriculum for this year. I have received my box and it looks like a TON of fun this year! They even have a way to keep samples of your child's work so you don't get overwhelmed. Once I get my set up figured out I will post what I did. :)

They have released these videos talking about everything for this year:

Cool! Are you in the Facebook homeschool group?

You are way ahead of me! We are not starting till the Tuesday after Labor Day. I think I will be doing 1 day of "road schooling" a week with my little guy. Big brother has German for 2.5 hours on Saturdays and normally we just hang at the high school that his classes are at. This will give us something to do. :)

No, I'm not in the Facebook group. Could you pm message me the name of it ?

We did day 2 today and it was so fun! You will love it.

I am actually doing it with my 5year old. It's not his main curriculum, obviously, but more like enrichment. It gives me ready made crafts to do and different projects and stories.
