Sherry in OH
If you have used or considered using this resource, http://www.ascaniusyci.org/store/gtkg_text.htm what are your thoughts about it? I am looking for a fun (and light) follow up to Greek Code Cracker. Ds wants a Greek version of Minimus Latin.
Loesje22000
I don't know that, but it seems to have 25 pages. That is not much, IMO. We used Elementary Greek 1 after greek code cracker and switched to Athenaze after that. Elementary Greek has about 125 pages + a workbook, but it is not as much fun as Minimus says dd.
KrissiK
I haven't heard of this curriculum. It looks pretty colorful. We did Codecrackers and then went to Elementary Greek. Elementary Greek has been very successful for us. It's not "fun" but we're not learning Greek to have fun. I mean, the kids like it well enough. They don't complain and enjoy the translating. It's like a puzzle. IMO, if a curriculum gets too fun and gimmicky, like Codecrackers, you kind of forget what you are supposed to be learning.
Cleopatra
We went from Code Cracker to Elementary Greek (3 levels) and then to Athanaze through Lukeion. All great experiences. We did try to use Hey Andrew Teach Me Some Greek but switched to Elementary Greek, which IMO, is a much better program.
Sherry in OH
Would Elementary Greek be suitable for a dabbler?
Loesje22000
Yes. It is written day per day what to do and what to say. You can follow it as written and learn greek with 10-20 min. Per day. As our dd was 11 when we started and she already knew latin so we used it at double speed. I like Elementary Greek because it makes learning Greek so very easy. Biblical Greek is not a recognized subject here in Highschool so we changed to a ancient greek course.
