lisabees
We have finished with our evolution study and we are about to begin our climate change study. I am looking for any and all ideas! DD12 is currently listening to Bill Nye's Unstoppable. She LOVES Coursera/Edx types courses. There are a few I am contemplating. Any experience/thoughts on these? Futurelearn https://www.futurelearn.com/courses/climate-change-challenges-and-solutions/ Coursera https://www.coursera.org/learn/earth-climate-change/ Edx https://www.edx.org/course/climate-change-science-ubcx-climate1x-0 Here are two other books that have been recommended on the boards... http://www.amazon.com/We-Are-Weather-Makers-History/dp/0763646563 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0763675458?keywords=eyes%20wide%20open&qid=1455036381&ref_=sr_1_1&sr=8-1 Anything that we shouldn't miss?
deerforest
We are starting the same in March! I enrolled us in the Coursera and Edx ones so I'd have access to the content, but we haven't started using it yet. We are using those same two books. ETA: I got the Basher Climate Change book too. (I feel like we are often on the same threads!) Edited February 9, 2016 by deerforest
Chrysalis Academy
I like all your resource choices (no surprise! ;) ). You might also want to check out this: http://www.globalsystemsscience.org/studentbooks The Climate Change book specifically, but they all look really good to me.

(I feel like we are often on the same threads!) Oh good! This will be extra fun, knowing you're doing the same thing! I, too, have enrolled in all three courses for the content. Just can't figure out which to do. DD just finished Open2Study's Becoming Human and really enjoyed it. Hmmm... I'll check out Basher. lisabees
I should add that Crash Course has 12 . I have yet to see if it is a good fit. Edited February 9, 2016 by lisabees
Chrysalis Academy
We liked the Crash Course Ecology videos, wish there were more! We haven't started using the GSS books yet, we will start on the in another month or so and use them alongside other resources for Environmental Science next year, too. lisabees
Any documentaries you can share? We will watch Chasing Ice. Maybe 11th Hour. Is An Inconvenient Truth still relevant?
deerforest
We've started the Edx course, and it's a great level for DD so far. I suspect we will end up spending the rest of the year on this topic!
lisabees
We have decided on Coursera's Earth's Future for now. I really like the beginning of the course. Do you think An Inconvenient Truth is still relevant? I haven't seen it in years. My idealist self gave a copy of it to each friend and family member for the holidays the year it came out!
