Sahamamama
My daughter (11) and I watched this video today, then watched this one. Her: It's beautiful, but there's no way you would get me to stay in an ice hotel! Me: So when you graduate, you don't want to go with your old mother on a trip to Alta, Norway? Stay in the ice hotel, go whale watching, eat waffles? You know, for your graduation present? Her: I'd rather have straight cash.
MrsRobinson
Perhaps you could tempt her with something more tropical? ;)
Critterfixer
I sometimes think about what I'd like to do for the boys for their graduation day. Then I start getting all teary, so I stop. But I could totally see both of them thinking an ice hotel with whale watching and waffles to be right up there on the list!

Sahamamama
She later made a comment about the ice chairs probably being good for hemorrhoids, so maybe my husband and I should consider it for our 15th anniversary. :glare:

Drop an ice cube down her back.
wintermom
I think both mother and child have the right to their own personal celebration upon graduation. ;) While I appreciate the beauty of the ice "house," I've btdt in my youth (in Norway) and don't need to celebrate with that kind of night-time cold. I'd go south.
