E.V.E.R.Y.T.H.I.N.G. Fashion related. Seriously, I haven't been able to shop in years. I long for the days when I can walk into a regular store like target and sigh a happy sigh from the flattering, classic styles and beautiful prints.

Hunter-jumper clothing as a fashion (leggings + riding boots).

The bushy hipster beards worn by suburban young men who have never once in their lives chopped firewood.

Gray hair on purpose, bleached and colored gray, on young women - I want to tell them not to waste their remaining years of being able to grow naturally not-gray hair !

Pajama pants and tank tops with flip flops as an outfit.

The messy bun has been my style for the last twenty years. I'm sure I will keep it for the next 20....or until it falls out.

I love the messy bun. If I could make one that looks good, I would wear it every day, too. My hair is too weird/thick/coarse or else I'm just a styling dim-wit, but I cannot do a messy bun. It looks idiotic on me. I wear it in a pony tail almost all the time when I am home, but pull out the pony most of the time to look more intentional.

Have you tried that long bird beak hair clasp? I try to make a good bun, use the bird beak thing instead of a band and it loosens to a messy bun. It's very attractive. I got mine at target.

What exactly constitutes flattering? What is a "classic style"? And which prints are beautiful?

The butt-crack baring waistband (lol) height of pants is my only complaint. I prefer just below the belly button/mid-rise. They're tough to find. It's butt crack or super high waist granny jeans for the most part.

V-neck shirts cut so low they must think the average woman has the cleavage of a boy.

Shirts that are so short they expose my flabby belly when I raise my arms overhead.

Work uniforms that are designed to look good on normal weight men and only manage to make women look fat.

"Petite" clothing being sold for women 5'3" and under and "normal" for 5'5"- 5'7" when the average height of American women is 5'4".

Not sizing women's clothes by waist or hip measurement.

Inconsistent sizing across brands or especially within a brand. I have two pairs of supposedly identical yoga pants from Target, except one pair is three inches shorter than the other.

Only offering athletic clothes by s,m,l, instead of numbers.

No, i don't think I have tried that. I have tried a couple different times and different kinds of holders, but I never hit upon the thing that worked. Years ago i used to do what you might call a messy Fench Twist, held with the big jaw clip. That was not bad while it worked, but those are out now. I also don't want to put my hair up in any way that creases my hair. I want to be able to drop it down at any point without it looking creased or bumpy.

I don't think it created creases. I think my hair had more body because it was twisted, but no creases.

Yes! This!!

I'm the real deal "petite" - with a long stretch and some hairspray in my bangs I can passably round up to 5'.  And I can no longer find any genuinely petite pants. Why am I having to hem or wear 4" heels with petite length pants?? I don't like the way they look hemmed, so I often resort to cropped pants for every day wear. Looking like a kid is hard enough without looking like one wearing her own kid's outgrown pants.  They hit close to right, but not quite right.  And while I regularly wear higher heels, there's something ridiculous about wearing them to the the kids' soccer games and baseball practices!  (Even though people here do because they think they're on Real Housewives  ).

I don't know, I'm watching Lost for the first time (I'm on season two and yes, I know I'm way behind the times, lol) and I've been finding myself thinking some very naughty things about Sayid and his occasional man bun. ;)

He's my favorite character. He has a *thick* English accent in real life.

Every once in a while, it looks good but most of the time, no......

The messy bun. Sure, a few gals look cute in a casual way but most women look like they let their 3yo do their hair.

Add yours!

But I did let my 3 year old do my hair! Well, 4 now.

Seriously though if messy buns are out, I can't wear a bun anymore. I compound my errors by holding it up with a pencil.

Okay, and that reminds me of another one...

"Awesome Sauce" needs to disappear.

On the other hand, I used to say Cool Beans, so what do I know? I'm just an old curmudgeon. (LOL)

I still say both. And you can't make me stop. :P :P Edited by fraidycat

I live pretty far under a rock, so this probably isn't new - and it's probably not so much a trend as it is a new way of doing things - but I don't like the subscription model.  It makes sense for things like Amazon, Netflix, etc. but I don't want a subscription to Microsoft Office. I just want to own it, and I don't want to pay a fortune to be able to.  I don't like this at all.

As I sit here with my messy bun and leggings.. I have to admit I think man buns are hot.. and my hubby has a beard. :p

But not a "hipster" one.

P.S. Lost is AMAZING.. Sayid is nice.. but Jack is my man ;)

He seems nice but looks waaaaay too much like my brother.

I'm pretty sure it's to help cut down on internet piracy. You can pirate a computer program, but not a subscription to one.

I'll quit wearing leggings as soon as I can buy a pair of jeans designed for a woman with actual hips. When I find a pair that fits my hips they're saggy and awful around my legs. Not an issue with leggings.

I have hips and have that trouble too. Skinny jeans work for me ...and Old Navy jeans.

People saying, "No problem!" when they should say, "You're welcome!"

I like leggings, and I don't judge them unless they are actually see through, as in, the knit fabric is pulling apart.  Well, OK, I guess I judge them a little unless worn with a long top, if they look like tights.

Love me that messy bun, though!

No, I'm pretty sure it was all a plot to ruin my day today!!

The guy at the store said it had do with following the models of Amazon, Apple, and even Starbucks. He said that people buy more when it's easier to do so, and a subscription model is the win-win: convenience for consumers translating to more sales for Microsoft.

It wouldn't surprise me if piracy plays a part in it, too. The digital world sometimes seems like the wild, wild west when it comes to ethics and such.  Laws and enforcement haven't yet caught up to the technology, it seems.
