Pen
I have been having trouble with threads vanishing. For example, I had started a thread about storing books (such as homeschool books bought in advance of being needed or others that I don't want to part with but do not have shelf space for) in damp conditions, such as my basement where I have enough room, but fear that the books would be no good when it is time to use them due to the conditions. Someone had replied suggesting a dehumidifier. I had replied that I didn't think that would work because there are gaps to outside (like by a door to the outside, and some that seem to be have been installed deliberately for ventilation reasons and other reasons important to the integrity of the building, in such a way that they cannot all be sealed off) and that I'd be trying to dehumidify not just the basement but the whole world. When I tried to return to the thread today to see if there are more ideas, it seemed to be completely gone. It does not seem to me to be an objectionable topic, not political or anything. What would have happened to it? This is not the first time this has happened. Is there something I can do to make this not happen in future? Am I the only one having the problem? If it was removed by moderators deliberately for some reason, what would be the reason?
EKS
Have you tried googling it? I have found threads that I was sure had disappeared by doing that.

Pen
Have you tried googling it? I have found threads that I was sure had disappeared by doing that. Thank you. No, I hadn't. I tried my "content" and followed threads and also searching with this sites search, but I now see that an external google works better. If I could remember what other lost threads were, I'd try with them that way too. http://forums.welltrainedmind.com/index.php?/topic/585312-Konmari-and-so-on-related:How-to-store-books?-Damp-conditions? wendyroo
When I google: pen damp site:http://forums.welltrainedmind.com/ Your thread is the top result...and this thread, about vanishing threads, is the third result. Wendy

Scarlett
When you click on your topics how are they sorted? Mine are by forum and sometimes they disappear because of that....all my threads are usually in chat so if one is in another forum it might be waaaaay down the list. Angie in VA
It's often that I don't see a post of mine under "My Content" but I usually find it if I search for posts by my name. Odd.
Vida Winter
This seems to happen a lot, especially with a post that doesn't have very many replies.
Sahamamama
If you want to be sure to find a thread later, you can "follow" it. Just click on the "Follow this topic" button (light gray), which is above the "Reply to this topic" button (darker gray). This makes it easier to find again. To find the thread, you would click on your user name (at the top, right of the screen), then click on "Content I follow." HTH.
