Sticking to meat, fruits, veggies, seeds and nuts is the best way to do this. You really can live without the bread, pastries, and other things. My go to sauce when cooking Asian food is Coconut aminos, https://www.coconutsecret.com/aminos2.html It's rather sweet but DS likes it because of its sweetness. We use Tamari sauce, which is just soy and no wheat.
