KAR120C
Benno Artmann wrote a book called Euclid: The Creation of Mathematics. It's available used for about $35 I think, or you should be able to inter-library-loan it if you want to take a look before spending! Guest ApplePi314
Hi Erica, I wanted to thank you for suggesting Benno Artmann's book Euclid, The Creation of Mathematics. I ordered it from Amazon and got a practically brand new copy for $8 OMG! It sells on Amazon thru them for $56! I have just looked thru it, and it really looks like it will be helpful as an adjunct to my study of The Elements. At 65, I am taking course in Plane Geometry online and loving it. Have a 95% average! Well, just wanted to say thanks for posting the name of that book. ApplePI314 a.k.a. Bill

Janice in NJ
Not a study guide - but may I recommend a really nice copy of The Elements. Great layout. Beautiful book. One that begs to be read. :001_smile: http://www.amazon.com/Euclids-Elements-T-L-Heath-translation/dp/1888009187/ref=tmm_hrd_title_0?ie=UTF8&qid=1279102253&sr=8-5 There is a pb edition as well, but I haven't seen it. The hardcover that I have is a nice, nice volume: lots of room to write, nice paper, lay-flat binding etc. Did I mention that there is ROOM FOR ME TO WRITE??? ;) If only all publishers made such books. :001_smile: Peace, Janice Enjoy your little people Enjoy your journey
