You might get more responses if you post on the General Education Board or the Logic Stage Board. To answer your question, here are two possibilities: History Odyssey from Pandia Press: Middle Ages Level 2 (scroll down) or History of the Medieval World by Susan Wise Bauer (would probably be best for an advanced 8th grader).
