AimeeM
I'm ordering the set for a family member who is traveling right now, and will be doing school on the road. I can't find a materials list for the Horizons Grade 3 (only for the first workbook - the child will be in public school second semester). Can anyone tell me what a kiddo needs for it? laundrycrisis
I have never used anything but the workbooks, a ruler, and a set of small wooden cubes. I have no idea what the publisher says is necessary.
Soror
I just use the workbooks. I have the Teacher's Books but haven't found them to be much use but then again I've taught this before. If it is a new hs'er I'd likely buy them just in case. As far as manipulatives the only thing I can think of dd using so far is a ruler, she is on L. 50 though, ds used some of it for review a couple of years ago, I don't recall him needing anything to go with it. Mrs Twain
In addition to a ruler, I have flash cards (addition, subtraction, and multiplication). I can't remember when division flash cards are recommended, but they are not critical.
SilverMoon
I think a ruler with inches and centimeters is the only must have. We don't do flashcards for this level of math, and we have tons of objects that work for "counters" around the house.
