seema
Hi, my 12 y/o dd with LD struggles with math word problems. She is overall behind in math, but struggles a whole lot with word problems. We are doing CLE(4/5) and also teaching textbooks(7), trying to catch up. I have been trying to breakdown the word problem for her, and then she gets it, but again few days later if we do similar problem, she struggles with it. Are there any simplified math word problem books that she can try and that slowly builds up skill level for comprehending them?
Pen
bumping this for you ... I have liked Critical Thinking Co materials for world problems, but they may not be what you are looking for.
Pen
ETA in case of CTC, Math Detective and their word problem books. I think Kumon may have word problem books, but I do not think they are very good. Still, they could be a good fit for your dd and do start at a low level and work up, I believe. Some people use Singapore word problem books way below grade level, but they are very specifically oriented to the Singapore bar model approach and tend to be on the hard side even at low grade levels. Rainbow Resource catalog has some books that are just geared to word problems, but I do not know if they are any good. Probably these days there are online word problem generators. One thing, for a while if she is struggling, I'd work daily and not wait several days to try the same type of problem again.

Our Library has kumon workbooks, so will try to see those as well.
Pen
One thing I liked about CTC was that books started with a huge group of problems that all had the same numbers, but you had to figure out from the problem what to do with those numbers, and you could do that yourself too. Like, Nan had 10 cents and earned 2 cents more, how much did she have total? Sam had 10 cents, but lost 2 cents on his way home, how much did he have left? Bob's dad told him he would double his 10 cent allowance if he would remember to brush his teeth regularly, how much allowance would that be? etc.
