Pen
Has anyone tried this? If so, how is it?
Dmmetler
It's a nice set of applied ways to use the fractions/decimals and percents skills, and it's fairly easy to do the experiments Fred does at home with basic equipment, but it's in no way, shape, or form a full physics book. For elementary or even middle school physical science, Ok, but definitely not for high school.
Pen
I was thinking of it for Logic Stage...
LMD
I'm using it with my DD. I think of it as a supplement to both maths and science (we're doing physics, sort of). My husband really wanted me to teach scientific/engineering notation alongside decimals, so this text seemed perfect. She had done fractions & decimals/percents - lightly though. We're going through it together and really enjoying it so far.
Grover
We found it dense but interesting. It took us longer than both of the other pre algebra books combined. Definitely not a complete physics programme, but it wasn't designed as that.
Desert Strawberry
It's for 6th-7 th grade. Sagg loved it. He did it over a summer.
redsquirrel
Would it be good alongside a math based physical science program? I used Derek Owens Physical science for 8th grade and I thought it could have used a little bit more reading or practice. Just a little bit and for other kids it could have been just fine on its own. I am thinking in a few years I might want to use it with Derek Owens with my younger boy. But I don't want to if it would be too much. I remember by 8th grade my kid was deep in the 'only what is necessary and mostly leave me alone' phase for school, lol.
